Lions light up the festive season

THE Lions Club of Toowoomba West will once again stage Toowoomba’s Christmas Wonderland throughout December.
The popular family event kicked off on Friday night in the Botanic Gardens at Queens Park when volunteers gave up their time to support local charities, including the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation, Lifeline and Toowoomba Hospice. The event has grown to be one of Queensland’s biggest light extravaganzas with more than 45,000 people visiting the display each year since 2006.
Peter Rookas from the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation said there had already been a great response from Toowoomba residents.
“The sparkle in the kids’ eyes was magic,” he said.
Toowoomba’s Christmas Wonderland will run from 7pm to 10pm each night until December 24. Read Full Story
